Job Title: Respiratory Therapist

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team in West Allis, Wisconsin.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Respiratory Therapist to provide high-quality patient care in our respiratory department. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and have a strong passion for delivering exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess patient respiratory status and develop individualized treatment plans to improve lung function and overall health.
  • Operate and maintain ventilators, oxygen therapy equipment, and other respiratory devices to ensure patient safety and comfort.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive patient care, including medication administration, patient education, and discharge planning.
  • Conduct pulmonary function tests, chest radiographs, and other diagnostic procedures to evaluate patient respiratory status.
  • Develop and implement respiratory care protocols to improve patient outcomes and reduce hospital readmissions.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
Requirements:
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
  • Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) within 12 months OR active Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential issued by the NBRC if credential received prior to January 1, 2019.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Graduate from an accredited respiratory care program, with a minimum of an associate degree.
