Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Director with expertise in medicinal chemistry to play a vital role in the company's efforts to validate novel target discovery approaches. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in synthetic chemistry methodologies, analytical techniques, and biorthogonal "click" chemistry techniques.

Responsibilities
  • Design, plan, and execute experiments to support research activities and project goals.
  • Establish lab processes, workflows, and assays as part of a collaborative team.
  • Drive team excellence by recruiting, training, and mentoring a high-performance biological assay group.
  • Oversee and contribute to the design and optimization of chemical conjugation, purification, and biophysical and biochemical characterization workflows.
  • Serve as a strategic and technical leader to drive the development of new technologies in genetic medicines.
  • Manage out-sourced CRO-based workflows related to medicinal chemistry and assume responsibility for their productivity.
Requirements
  • PhD degree in chemistry or a related field with 8+ years of experience as a medicinal chemist/project leader in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry.
  • Demonstrated deep understanding of state-of-the-art synthetic chemistry methodologies and proficiency in analytical techniques.
  • Hands-on experience in biorthogonal "click" chemistry techniques for biomolecular compounds.
  • Hands-on experience in implementing biophysical and biochemical analysis and purification techniques.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative, team environment and manage multiple projects concurrently.
