Job Summary

Advanced Home Health and Hospice of Kansas City is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team in providing exceptional patient care. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the nursing staff and department to ensure the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain the nursing program and activities by following written nursing policies, procedures, manuals, and objectives.
  • Monitor patient admission and discharge procedures to ensure seamless transitions and high-quality care.
  • Participate in surveys and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Identify deficiencies and develop and implement plans of corrective action to address any issues.
  • Ensure that medical forms, reports, evaluations, and charts are completed and accurate, and provide updates and recommendations to the Administrator concerning department operations.
  • Assist in planning and preparing the department's budget for labor and resources.
  • Coach, teach, and mentor nursing staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Complete a monthly schedule for Nurses and CNAs to ensure adequate staffing and coverage.
  • Oversee COVID-19 testing and reporting requirements to ensure compliance and safety.
  • Support the company culture by promoting a positive and patient-focused work environment.
  • Protect the legal, financial, and moral well-being of Advanced Home Health and Hospice.
Requirements
  • Must be a state-licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing.
  • Must be knowledgeable of general and rehabilitative nursing and medical practices, procedures, laws, guidelines, and regulations.
  • Preferred previous experience in a hospital or healthcare facility with at least one year of supervisory responsibility.
  • A positive attitude and a genuine love and care for the geriatric population.
