Neurointerventional Radiologic Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team in the Neurointerventional department at UVA Health. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures under the direction of a physician.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic technical procedures, including extra-cranial and intra-cranial angiography, vertebroplasty, and other spinal injections.
- Provide technical support for musculoskeletal procedures, including discograms, aspirations, and therapeutic injections.
- Assist in the technical support of neurointerventional procedures, including tumor embolization, epistaxis, and spinal lesion embolization.
- Operate required imaging equipment using established guidelines and imaging protocols.
- Ensure proper safety standards are met and maintain a safe working environment.
- Instruct students and residents, and perform preceptor duties as needed.
- Perform quality assurance checks on equipment and assist in maintaining supply inventory.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of Medical Center information systems and coding procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with new techniques and technology by attending lectures, seminars, and educational readings.
- Graduate of an accredited program in Radiography required; Associate's Degree in Radiography preferred.
- 1 year of relevant experience in a Radiologic Technologist role.
- Registered Radiologic Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT R.T.) required; ARRT (VI) certification preferred.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
The job requires standing and sitting for prolonged periods, frequent bending/stooping, and reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive). The individual must be proficient in communicative, auditory, and visual skills, with attention to detail and ability to write legibly. The ability to lift/push/pull lbs. may be required. The individual may be exposed to fumes, cold, heat, radiation, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.
