Job Summary

As a Clinical Pharmacist with the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care services to our nation's Veterans. This position requires a strong foundation in pharmacy practice, with a focus on clinical services, patient education, and medication management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Services: Participate in multidisciplinary team rounds, provide consultative services, and manage medication protocols to ensure safe and effective care.
  • Patient Education: Provide medication counseling to patients and caregivers, and develop pharmaceutical care plans for complex and high-risk medication regimens.
  • Medication Management: Interpret and evaluate medication orders, identify and resolve prescribing and dispensing issues, and ensure the safe and appropriate dispensing of medications.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Provide technical guidance and leadership to pharmacy support staff, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care services.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited College or School of Pharmacy with a baccalaureate degree in pharmacy (BS Pharmacy) and/or a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree.
  • Full, current and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, Territory, Commonwealth of the United States (i.e., Puerto Rico), or the District of Columbia.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing to both patients and healthcare staff.
Working Conditions

This position requires heavy lifting (45 lbs. and over), reaching above shoulder, use of fingers, walking (3 hours per day), standing (6 hours per day), kneeling (2 hours per day), and ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously.
