Job Overview

Kemira, a global leader in sustainable chemical solutions, is seeking a Logistics Operations Supervisor to manage internal fleet operations, distribution terminals, and transportation of internal and external carriers.

This role is responsible for ensuring safety and compliance of personnel, recruiting and hiring truck drivers, and managing fleet equipment and driver performance.

The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of experience in the logistics industry, with 3-5 years of transportation planning experience, and strong verbal and written communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all personnel comply with rules, regulations, and standards, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Driver Recruitment and Training: Recruit and hire truck drivers, and provide training on regulated transportation requirements and internal procedures.
  • Fleet Management: Manage fleet equipment, including maintenance, testing, and inspections, and coordinate with team members to ensure compliance.
  • Driver Performance: Monitor driver safety and performance, and drive continuous improvement through robust KLI management.
  • Transportation Planning: Oversee transportation planning for internal and external carriers, and manage steel mill service, inventories, and coordination with plants and SCM.
  • Cost Control: Manage cost centers, review financial statements, and prepare monthly financial and operative reviews.
  • Administrative Support: Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly SAP processing is completed accurately and completely, and address any SAP issues as needed.
Requirements
  • 7-10 years of experience in logistics industry.
  • 3-5 years of transportation planning experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
  • Experience with MS office applications.
