Job Title

An Eye Care Specialist is needed to work at our Largo Medical Center in Maryland.

About the Job

This role involves examining patients with various visual problems, diagnosing diseases, disorders, and deficiencies, and prescribing treatment accordingly. The specialist will also refer patients to other Kaiser Permanente providers as needed for further evaluation and treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examine patients using a range of optometry instruments and techniques.
  • Determine the visual requirements of partially sighted individuals and prescribe low-vision aids.
  • Prescribe and fit contact lenses.
  • Diagnose ocular pathology using diagnostic pharmaceutical agents.
  • Refers patients to other appropriate providers as needed.
Requirements
  • A minimum of one year of experience or completion of an accredited optometry residency program.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of Optometry required.
  • Licensed Optometrist in the state where care is provided.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least two years of experience in an interdisciplinary healthcare environment.
  • Accredited residency in Optometry preferred.
Work Schedule

The ideal candidate will be available to work Monday to Friday, with the option to work on Saturdays as needed.

Location

This position is based at Largo Medical Center in Maryland.

Salary Range

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
