Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nutrition Program Manager to join our team at Heart of Ohio Family Health Centers. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising registered dietitians and leading nutrition-related initiatives to improve patient health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient medical history, including nutritional status, diet history, and food habits, and develop evidence-based nutritional plans.
  • Conduct individual and group sessions to discuss patient nutritional needs and determine risk factors, and confer with physicians and other clinicians as appropriate.
  • Document assessments in patients' electronic health records and bill insurance for services provided.
  • Supervise dietitians for time and attendance, performance evaluations, development, training, and interviewing.
  • Develop and present nutrition-related presentations to providers and community organizations as needed.
  • Work with other department managers to ensure strong collaboration among ancillary care providers and improve visit workflows.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in nutrition, food service, or community health; Master's degree preferred.
  • Three years of experience as a dietitian, with experience in an outpatient setting preferred.
  • Registration/Licensure: Registered dietitian as certified by the American Dietetic Association's Commission on Dietetic Registration; Licensed dietitian in Ohio.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Management experience.
  • Knowledge of ethnic eating patterns and cultural customs related to food.
  • Knowledge of education principles, including human behavior and behavior modification techniques and presentation methods.
Work Environment

The Nutrition Program Manager will work in a medical office environment with front-desk reception area, separate patient examination rooms, nursing stations, pharmacy stock room, business offices, hallways, and private toilet facilities. The clinical area is kept at a normal working temperature, sanitized daily, and maintains standard environment furniture with adjustable chairs.

Physical Demands and Requirements
  • Mobility: ability to easily move without assistance.
  • Bending: occasional bending from the waist and knees.
  • Reaching: occasional reaching no higher than normal arm stretch.
  • Lifting/Carry: ability to lift and carry a normal stack of documents and/or files.
  • Pushing/Pulling: ability to push or pull a normal office environment.
  • Dexterity: ability to handle and/or grasp, use a keyboard, calculator, and other office or medical equipment accurately and quickly.
  • Hearing: ability to accurately hear and react to the normal tone of a person's voice.
  • Visual: ability to safely and accurately see and react to factors and objects in a normal setting.
  • Speaking: ability to pronounce words clearly to be understood by another individual.
