Position Overview
The Staff Mechanical Engineer will play a crucial role in collaborating with various teams including Operations, Engineering, and Shared Services. This position focuses on the design, implementation, and maintenance of gas processing equipment to enhance operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, set up, and maintain gas process equipment.
- Work closely with field technicians and subcontractors to execute project plans effectively.
- Engage with vendors to specify and procure necessary equipment.
- Contribute to the development of job aids and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Assist in creating inspection reports and maintaining technical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements in all tasks.
- Support field technicians in the commissioning and troubleshooting of projects.
- Operate company vehicles as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline relevant to the gas industry from an accredited institution.
- 3-7 years of experience in gas field operations or engineering is preferred.
- Willingness to learn about various gas field process equipment.
- Ability to pass safety and operator qualification programs.
- Valid driver's license and compliance with company insurability standards.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting P&IDs and other technical drawings.
- Successful completion of background checks and drug screenings is required.
Competencies and Skills
- Strong organizational and planning abilities with minimal supervision.
- Basic proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with PLC and HMI controls.
- Solid mathematical skills including algebra and basic arithmetic.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach.
- Self-directed with a strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in English communication.
