This position is for a mechanical design engineer to support the Flight Test team working on F-35, F-16, and F-22 aircraft. The selected candidate will be responsible for performing mechanical design activities for the installation of flight test equipment and data system components. The candidate will be required to release engineering documents, work instructions, support airworthiness documentation, monitor fabrication activities, coordinate lab procedures, and support aircraft checkout and flight operations.

Responsibilities for this position include:

• Development, installation oversight, and validation of 3D CATIA flight test mechanical designs.

• Coordination with suppliers, internal and external integrated product teams, management, and the customer.

• Technical engineering support for installation and testing at CONUS and OCONUS locations.

• Engineering liaison for flight test and instrumentation modification activities.

• Produce and read engineering drawings, schematics, and technical procedures

• Develop troubleshooting plans and discrepancy resolution

• Will be expected to lead a team of engineers through complex projects

A level 3 employee Typically has 5 - 10 years of professional experience.

**Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.**

Desired skills


• Experienced in CATIA V5 mechanical design.

• Familiar with sensor technology utilized in the test of aircraft structures (loads and vibration) and vehicle subsystems (environmental control systems, flight controls, propulsion, and aerodynamics).

• Familiar with fighter aircraft technical data, maintenance practices, flight operations, and weapons

• Familiar with aircraft structures as it relates to equipment installation and harness routing.

• Strong communication and people skills with the ability to work in a diverse engineering and technician team environment.
