Role Overview:
The Training Simulator Testing unit plays a vital role in deploying cutting-edge, high-fidelity simulators for the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program (NNPP). These advanced simulators are essential for the effective training and qualification of Naval Nuclear Operators within the NNPP training framework.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, the Principal Engineer will be involved in:
- Supporting the initial design, testing, and deployment of simulators to NNPP training commands.
- Collaborating with teams in various locations to ensure seamless integration and functionality of training systems.
- Participating in travel as required, estimated at around 10% of the time.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in an engineering or science-related field with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience.
- A Master's degree in engineering or a science-related field with at least 7 years of relevant experience.
- Qualifications as a Naval Nuclear Plant Operator may substitute for some experience.
- Current or previous qualifications as Shift Supervisor Part II or EOOW in the Nuclear Operations Program.
