About the Organization
Novato Unified School District (NUSD) employs around 800 staff members dedicated to the education of approximately 7,400 students.
The district comprises eight elementary schools, including a dual-language immersion program, a TK-8 school, two middle schools, and two comprehensive high schools.
NUSD also features an Alternative Education Center that accommodates a continuation school and an independent study program for grades K-12.
All schools within Novato Unified provide special education services, alongside Gifted and Talented Education (GATE), ensuring support for all English learner students.

Position Overview
Novato Unified School District is eager to recruit an educator with a specialization in Music for available positions across various elementary sites, to be determined.
The ideal candidates will possess an intern, preliminary, or clear California Credential in Music, along with authorization to teach English Learners.
NUSD welcomes aspiring educators who are in the process of obtaining the necessary credentials for emergency permits.NUSD seeks an Instrumental Music Educator who meets the following qualifications:
- Expertise in woodwind, brass, and percussion teaching methodologies
- Ability to cultivate fundamental skills in beginner musicians and consistently reinforce those skills
- Capability to identify, select, and rehearse suitable repertoire for instrumental music students
- Experience in presenting regular performances
- Skill in developing and maintaining a positive classroom environment
- Collaboration with the NUSD Music Team to align instructional objectives

New certificated staff at NUSD may transfer in up to 15 years of experience, allowing for placement on Step 1, subject to verification of employment.
