Role Summary:

The School Psychologist will engage directly with students at the elementary and middle school levels, conducting assessments, participating in IEP meetings, and preparing comprehensive reports to address the educational and developmental needs of students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment Duties:
    • Conduct psychological evaluations to identify student needs and strengths.
    • Utilize assessment data to guide educational strategies and interventions.
  • IEP Collaboration:
    • Attend and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, working alongside educators and parents to develop tailored plans for students.
    • Provide professional insights to ensure IEPs effectively address student requirements.
  • Documentation:
    • Draft detailed reports based on assessment outcomes and observations.
    • Effectively communicate findings and recommendations to educators and families.
  • Student Counseling:
    • Offer counseling services to support students' emotional, social, and academic growth.
    • Implement strategies to help students navigate challenges and achieve their potential.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work collaboratively with teachers and school staff to foster an inclusive learning environment.
    • Engage with families to provide support and guidance regarding student progress.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background:
    • Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related discipline.
  • Certification:
    • Possession of a valid California credential for School Psychology is required.
  • Experience:
    • Experience working with elementary and middle school students is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong abilities in assessment, analysis, and communication.
