Job Overview: Outdoor Education Facilitator
As an Outdoor Education Facilitator, you will leverage your knowledge, creativity, and available resources to design engaging lesson plans for campers each week. This role involves providing guidance and mentorship to assistant facilitators and Leaders-In-Training (LITs), ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants. Candidates should possess prior experience working with children, preferably in informal or outdoor educational settings, and demonstrate a commitment to personal growth and development. This position blends educational activities, outdoor fun, and mentorship into a fulfilling experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety of all participants.
- Maintain clear and effective communication.
- Adhere to all established policies and procedures.
- Act as a leader and engaged team member.
- Facilitate games, activities, songs, and exercises with campers.
- Set objectives and monitor progress.
- Show appreciation and recognition for others.
- Provide necessary medical assistance and keep accurate records.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work outdoors with children on uneven terrain.
- Capacity to carry equipment and facilitate activities.
