About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Consumer Journalist to join our team at NBCUniversal in Needham, MA. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a leading media company and contribute to the creation of high-quality content for our audiences.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience working as an investigative or consumer journalist and will be able to demonstrate impeccable reporting and storytelling skills. They will also have a strong understanding of how to engage audiences on social media and present stories for all station platforms.

This is a full-time position that requires a flexible schedule with the ability to work any 24x7 shift and willingness to travel and work long hours and on weekends with short notice.

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per year

About the Role
  • Research, develop, write, and produce enterprise consumer and investigative news stories
  • Take ownership over our Responds brand by working to resolve consumer complaints from viewers, interview people we've helped and produce regular Responds packages for broadcast and digital.
  • Generate quick turn consumer and investigative packages while juggling longer turn stories.
  • Enterprise consumer/investigative content across all on-air and digital platforms.
  • Develop and maintain sources that will generate exclusive reports.
  • Contribute research and analysis on major breaking news events.
  • Ability to add depth and provide context to big stories, especially consumer and investigative stories.
  • Strong ad-lib skills to calmly and effectively deliver news reports.
  • Collaborate with the news team including anchors, reporters, assignment desk, producers and digital team.
