Experienced Investigative Journalist Wanted

We are seeking a seasoned investigative journalist to join our special projects team at NBCUniversal Local. This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated and creative professional to work on exciting consumer and investigative news stories.
NBCUniversal Local is the only network-owned local media division that is home to the largest bilingual local newsrooms within the country's top 10 TV markets. Our stations and networks serve diverse audiences and communities across linear, streaming, OTT, digital web, mobile, and cable platforms, working together to keep local audiences informed anytime and anywhere.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience working as an investigative or consumer journalist, with impeccable reporting and storytelling skills. They will be able to deliver meaningful and impactful stories for our digital and broadcast platforms, with a strong understanding of how to engage audiences on social media.
This role offers a competitive salary range of $65,000-$90,000 per year, depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package. The successful candidate will be expected to handle consumer complaints from viewers, interview people we've helped, and produce regular Responds packages for broadcast and digital.
The responsibilities of this position include:
- Research, develop, write, and produce enterprise consumer and investigative news stories
- Take ownership over our Responds brand by working to resolve consumer complaints from viewers, interview people we've helped, and produce regular Responds packages for broadcast and digital
- Generate quick turn consumer and investigative packages while juggling longer turn stories
- Enterprise consumer/investigative content across all on-air and digital platforms
- Develop and maintain sources that will generate exclusive reports
- Contribute research and analysis on major breaking news events
- Ability to add depth and provide context to big stories, especially consumer and investigative stories
- Strong ad-lib skills to calmly and effectively deliver news reports
This is a full-time position based in Needham, MA (Greater Boston). Candidates must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple assignments concurrently, and work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
