Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Ascension Via Christi Rehabilitation Hospital. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping patients regain their independence and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and treat patients with physical, emotional, cognitive, and/or psychosocial deficits.
  • Assess patient's ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills.
  • Design and implement the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.
  • Document findings of patient progress and monitor and modify the plan of care as needed.
  • Seek consultation as necessary and educate the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
  • Plan and/or assist with patient discharge from therapy services and provide information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.
  • Oversee the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians according to established regulations and practice standards.
Requirements
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Licensed Rehab Therapist specializing in Occupational Therapy (OTR) credentialed from the Kansas Board of Healing Arts obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
