Aircraft Painter II

The Aircraft Painter II is a critical role within Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, responsible for safely preparing, painting, and detailing aircraft according to schedule using company quality standards and operating procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Aircraft Preparation and Painting: Safely perform aircraft preparation, painting, and detailing of aircraft under minimal supervision, coordinating with supervision and Inspection to ensure compliance with internal and FAA paperwork, sign-offs, and quality specifications.
- Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Follow standard operating procedures when using tools and equipment such as dual action sanders, hydraulic lift platforms, and paint sprayers, properly caring for and maintaining shop equipment and tools.
- Chemical Handling and Safety: Follow standard operating procedures when using sealants, paint strippers, and corrosion-preventive chemicals, using protective equipment as required.
- Safety and Compliance: Comply with safety rules and procedures, being alert for unsafe conditions and addressing them before putting people or property at risk.
- Material Tracking and Management: Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign-off work.
- Aircraft Movement and Support: Assist with aircraft movement in hangars.
- Continuous Improvement: Offer continuous improvement ideas and participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED required, 2 years in related paint processes, aircraft industry experience preferred, valid driver's license required.
- Skills and Abilities: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, use tools and equipment associated with the aircraft painting process, read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation, pass Pulmonary Function Test to obtain respirator certification, climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas, lift up to 40 pounds, work any shift, be computer literate, and have working knowledge of paint processes and products.
