We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Law Enforcement Professional to join our team as a Police Officer - Lateral Entry. As a member of our department, you will play a critical role in maintaining public safety and upholding the law in our community.
Key Responsibilities- Represent the City and County of Denver in a professional and respectful manner, building trust and rapport with the community.
- Patrol assigned sectors, precincts, or areas, familiarizing yourself with local businesses, public facilities, and community needs.
- Suppress crime through collaborative relationships and community involvement, protecting and preserving life and property.
- Investigate criminal activity, apprehend and arrest violators of criminal law, and enforce traffic laws.
- Prepare detailed reports of incidents and respond to police calls in your area, as disseminated by the police dispatcher.
- Possess a current Colorado Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification or state equivalent.
- Not currently under Internal Affairs investigation for any reason.
- Have a minimum of two years of law enforcement experience performing calls to service or street duty (Patrol Experience) while employed full-time at the time of application.
- A competitive salary range of $84,772.00 to $105,965.00, depending on experience.
- A comprehensive benefits package, including full salary and benefits start day one of the Denver Police Academy, longevity pay, and opportunities for extra pay through off-duty assignments.
