Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach government courses at Austin Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and delivering engaging and innovative coursework to a multicultural student population.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and teach government courses in accordance with departmental learning outcomes and standards.
  • Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback.
  • Provide teaching and mentoring services to students in a manner that does not discriminate based on protected categories.
  • Remain current in the field through professional development activities.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by the department chair, dean, and/or associate vice chancellor.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Government or Political Science, or a Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in Government or Political Science.
  • Unofficial transcripts, updated Curriculum Vitae (C.V.) or Resume, and a cover letter explaining interest in the position.
Working Conditions

The work is routinely performed in a classroom or laboratory setting. The successful candidate must be able to stand, walk, sit, and reach for extended periods of time.
