About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Coordinator to join our team at Schiavone. As a key member of our safety team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees, contractors, and the public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the Management and Compliance of the Project Safety Program
  • Perform regular safety checks and inspections to identify potential hazards and risks
  • Document and report any safety findings and corrective actions taken
  • Complete daily safety reports and provide regular updates to the Safety Manager
  • Document and report any near misses or incidents
  • Communicate effectively with all designated Competent Persons before, during, and after completion of their work shifts
  • Carry out any other assigned tasks given by the Area Safety Manager or Area Project Manager
Qualifications
  • NYCT Track Safety Trained
  • A minimum of ninety (90) days prior ROW experience including flagging and diversions of service
  • Successful completion of the 40-hour NYC-Department of Buildings Site Safety Manager Course
  • Successful completion of the 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety & Health (29 CFR 1926) Course
  • Active member of American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP)
  • Minimum two (2) years of safety or safety-related experience
  • Familiarity with the type of work being performed
  • Competent to instruct on-site personnel
  • Able to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Possess and maintain a current New York State Department of Labor Asbestos Inspectors License
  • Possess and maintain a current C-3/C-5 Supervisor / Competent Person Training for De-leading of Industrial Structures Certificate
