The role of the Electrical Estimator is crucial in aiding various divisions by delivering precise project cost assessments. Key responsibilities encompass analyzing architectural plans, specifications, and associated documents, gathering proposals from subcontractors, computing project expenses, and formulating comprehensive project estimates. This position also entails engaging in preconstruction tasks such as identifying project opportunities, participating in pre-bid discussions, and selecting vendors or subcontractors. Furthermore, the estimator collaborates closely with project managers to ensure that the costs awarded for the project are in line with the estimated values.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs from project plans and specifications
  • Solicit quotes and define the scope of work for subcontractors and suppliers
  • Maintain effective communication with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients
  • Review project documentation to gain a comprehensive understanding of requirements
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Conduct site visits and attend pre-bid meetings as necessary
  • Coordinate with Electrical Managers to oversee scheduling and resource constraints
  • Analyze cost factors and prepare estimates accompanied by a detailed work schedule
  • Negotiate and finalize agreements with subcontractors
  • Plan work activities, allocate resources efficiently, and develop actionable plans
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Supervisor
  • Generate specialized reports through data analysis and trend evaluation
  • Stay informed about cost trends and price fluctuations of materials and resources

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in cost estimation
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in relevant software
  • Ability to accurately interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Extensive knowledge of the electrical contracting sector
  • Solid understanding of construction methodologies
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Physical Requirements: Must be capable of performing lifting, carrying, and other physical tasks
  • Must comply with the company's employment standards, including drug testing and background checks
