Electrical Estimation Specialist

At Asterix Communications, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimation Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for estimating costs for electrical projects, preparing tender documents, and coordinating with the Estimation Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Collect and obtain tenders from various sources, including CTC, consultant offices, and clients.
Coordinate with the Estimation Manager in preparing tender evaluation and analysis to determine Bid/No Bid for projects related to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
Collect information to conduct market analysis to support decision-making in Bid/No Bid.
Attend pre-tender meetings or site visits, if required.
Study all documents, including drawings, BOQ, specifications, addendums, clarifications, and minutes of meetings.
Obtain clarifications to remove any ambiguity in tender documents.
Float inquiries to all specified and non-specified suppliers, providing all necessary data.
Analyze technical compliance and price data received from suppliers/subcontractors, with the ability to generate comparative statements as part of the cost analysis.
Tabulate specifications for various applications of variable quantities, such as ducting, insulation, cladding, protections, piping, and piping insulation.
Take off quantities from drawings for each application as per its specification.
Estimate overall material, labor, and other related costs, complying with electrical specifications, drawings, details, notes, addendums, query clarifications, BOQ, terms, and conditions, in coordination with the Estimation Manager.
Assist electrical projects estimation in identifying deviations in scope, options, provisions, exclusions, etc., and preparation to offer to BOQ.
Revise cost, if appropriate, depending on prices achieved on previously executed projects.
Prepare risk analysis in estimation of electrical systems, such as currency fluctuation, material price escalation, etc.
Participate in and contribute to Value Engineering studies.
Support development of estimating policies, standards, and procedures.
Update and maintain historical cost data and databases of electrical projects.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years' experience in estimation and preparation of offers/tenders.
Knowledge in cooling load calculations, heat loss calculations, equipment selection, duct system design, piping system design, international standards like ASHRAE, DW, ASME, and local standards like MEW, MPW, KFD, etc.
Expert with all-round knowledge of estimating strategies and techniques of construction contracts.
Strong MS Office skills and advanced knowledge of estimating software programs.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Execution experience on few projects will be an added advantage.
