Medical Coder

Ochsner Health is seeking a skilled Medical Coder to join our team. As a Medical Coder, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of patient data.

• Assign ICD-10, CPT, and/or HCPCS codes within established coding guidelines, rules, and regulations.
• Review medical documentation to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
• Communicate with providers to clarify documentation or request additional information.
• Collaborate with team members to meet departmental goals and objectives.
• Act as a resource for patient accounts and research questions.

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of coding experience or AHIMA/AAPC certification preferred.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Windows-style applications and software packages specific to the role.
