Job Summary

Northstar Behavioral Health Network is a leading provider of substance use disorder treatment services, specializing in Opioid Use Disorder and Stimulant Use Disorder. We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions to clients, developing comprehensive treatment plans that address their unique needs.
  • Conduct assessments and document services provided, ensuring compliance with Northstar Behavioral Health Network policies and governing body standards.
  • Participate in weekly case staffing meetings and supervision sessions to ensure seamless collaboration and high-quality care.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with outside agencies, including court and Department of Corrections referral sources.
  • Exhibit expertise in core competencies related to co-occurring disorders, staying up-to-date with continuing education and implementing best practices in treatment.
Requirements
  • Valid LADC licensure in the state of Minnesota
  • At least one year of experience in addiction counseling
  • Comprehensive understanding of Minnesota Statutes related to providing services for the population Northstar Behavioral Health Network serves
  • CPR Certification or attainment within 30 days of employment
  • Pass a State of Minnesota Background Check
  • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite programs
  • Familiarity with medication for opioid use disorder models and specialty training such as DBT-SUD, CBT, and MI
  • Familiarity with Procentive, Electronic Health Record System
