Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Antenna Design Engineer to join our team at Raytheon Technologies. As a key member of our Apertures and RF Department, you will be responsible for designing and developing state-of-the-art ultra-wideband phased array antennas, individual antennas, and Low Observable (LO) antennas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical solutions to complex problems involving antenna/sensor-based applications such as radar, electronic warfare, electronic attack, electronic support measures, communications, geolocation, direction finding, etc.
  • Use computational electromagnetic analysis software to design and predict performance of various types of antennas and apertures.
  • Analyze simulation or test data to verify performance to requirements.
  • Participate in the testing of RF hardware for required performance metrics: VSWR, insertion loss, gain, polarization, radar cross section (RCS), etc.
  • Support internal and customer research and development programs design and simulation of antennas, arrays or RF components/systems and leading teams that perform these functions.
Requirements
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with design, fabrication, and test of antennas or passive RF components.
  • Experience with EM modeling & simulation tools: HFSS, CST, FEKO, Xpatch or SENTRi.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master of Science (MS) or PhD in electrical engineering.
  • Experience designing, fabricating, and testing ultra-wideband phased array antennas such as Tightly Couple Dipole Arrays (TCDA), Vivaldi, Sliced Notch, Planar Ultra-wideband Modular Arrays (PUMA).
  • Implement various design techniques (materials, shaping, etc.) for RCS mitigation where necessary.
  • Ability to obtain Top Secret clearance as well as the ability to obtain special access clearance(s).
