Job Description:

This exciting opportunity is part of our U.S. Litigation Program and seeks enthusiastic, resourceful, and highly organized Summer Legal Associates with a commitment to reproductive rights to engage in a variety of litigation projects. Legal Associates will be immersed in our fast-paced litigation and have an opportunity to hone their legal research and writing skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting legal and factual research in connection with active and potential litigation.
  • Drafting research and/or strategy memos to develop and carry out our active and potential litigation.
  • Participating in meetings with our attorneys, clients, and co-counsel.
  • Contributing to our strategic thinking and approach to impact litigation.
Requirements:
  • Completed at least one year of law school by June 2025.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Ability to receive and engage with feedback.
  • Demonstrated interest in reproductive health, rights, and justice; gender justice; human rights; and/or other public interest issues.
  • Commitment to racial justice.
Compensation:

A stipend of up to $7,000 will be supplied through a $20 hourly pay rate. We encourage applicants to seek external funding to supplement this amount.

What We Offer:

In addition to a competitive stipend, we offer opportunities for social events, networking opportunities, and other activities as part of our Summer Associate program. This position will be hybrid, based in either the New York City or Washington, D.C., office. COVID-19 vaccination is required for all US-based employees of the Center.
