Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Cross Cultural Clinician to join our team at Oregon Health & Science University. As a key member of our Intercultural Psychiatric Program, you will provide expert, culturally sensitive mental health services to immigrant and refugee communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct mental health assessments and develop treatment plans for clients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy using evidence-based interventions.
  • Collaborate with staff psychiatrists and other mental health practitioners to deliver comprehensive care.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations and providers to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and development activities to enhance cultural competence and clinical skills.
Requirements
  • Graduate degree in psychology, social work, or a related field.
  • Qualifications as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) with the Mental Health & Addiction Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO).
  • Native or native-like fluency in English and one or more languages spoken by the target population (Somali, French, Arabic, Swahili, or Amharic).
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity to the experiences of refugees and immigrants from Africa.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working with immigrants and refugees in a clinical setting.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed treatments and evidence-based interventions.
  • Coursework or experience in clinical supervision and cultural competence.
