We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) Director to join our team at Precision Castparts Corp. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing QHSE strategies and policies to drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with relevant ISO standards.
Key Responsibilities- QHSE Management System: Implement and review the Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental management systems to the relevant ISO standards.
- Compliance and Regulatory Affairs: Ensure full QHSE compliance across the site and set up any additional supporting processes and procedures for implementation.
- Regulatory Liaison: Represent the company in communications and liaison with regulators and ensure effective completion of all regulatory submissions.
- Customer Requirements: Review new and revised customer requirements in conjunction with the sales, technical, and operations teams to assure that the internal procedures meet these requirements as well as manage the approval and release of customer specifications.
- Corrective/Preventive Actions and Customer Complaints: Raise and/or oversee any necessary CA/PAs, distribute, review responses, and verify effective implementation, interface with customers, and respond to customer complaints and corrective actions.
- Policies and Procedures: Ensure that all PCC Policies are adhered to, and any current exemptions are eliminated within agreed timescales.
- Leadership and Guidance: Provide advice and guidance to the leadership team on relevant requirements and legal obligations.
- QHSE Auditing: Manage QHSE auditing across the site, including external auditing to relevant ISO standards, and report to senior management on the performance of the QHSE management system.
- Employee Engagement: Manage a culture of employee engagement in safety processes and continuous improvement through regular contact with shop floor staff.
- Accident Investigation and Prevention: Manage effective accident and near-miss investigation and proactive accident reduction techniques.
- Training and Development: Conduct effective training for all employees in regulatory and company-mandated QHSE requirements.
- Risk Management: Work closely with operations and engineering to identify and control quality, environmental, and health and safety risks associated with process change.
- Code of Conduct and SOX Guidelines: Perform all aspects of the position according to the PCC Code of Conduct and SOX guidelines.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Qualifications: Qualified Storm Water Practitioner (QISP) Certification (Preferred), Hold ISO Internal Auditor and Lead Auditor certification, and a minimum of 5 years' experience in QHSE management.
- Competencies: Excellent working knowledge of all MS Office applications and internet applications, strong knowledge and understanding of QHSE regulatory requirements, high level of self-motivation to perform and succeed, ability to work under minimal supervision and use own initiative, strong interpersonal skills at all levels of the organization, excellent communication and presentation skills, excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work effectively, ability to work under pressure and deadlines, and excellent people management skills.
