Job Title: English Language Arts High School Teacher

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced English Language Arts High School Teacher to join our team at East St. Louis School.

Job Summary:

The English Language Arts High School Teacher will be responsible for teaching English Language Arts to high school students, developing and implementing lesson plans, and assessing student progress. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for teaching and learning, excellent communication skills, and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teaching and Lesson Planning: Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of high school students, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of individual students.
  • Classroom Management: Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and motivation.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure student success.
  • Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with best practices in teaching and learning, and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
Requirements:
  • Certification/License: Illinois Professional Educator Licensure State
  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment. Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred.
Working Conditions:
