College Admissions Advisor

We are seeking a highly skilled College Admissions Advisor to join our team at Class 101 Ashburn. As a College Admissions Advisor, you will work closely with high school students and their families to guide them through the college application process.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-on-one counseling and guidance to high school students throughout the college application process
- Assisting students with college application completion, including application essays, personal statements, and supplementary materials
- Providing advice on test prep strategies for SAT, ACT, and other standardized tests
- Guiding students and families through the scholarship search and financial aid application process
- Helping students assess academic, social, and financial fit at potential colleges
- Leading workshops for students and parents on various topics related to college admissions, essay writing, financial aid, and more
- Building relationships with students, parents, and high school staff, as well as liaising and forming partnerships with colleges and universities nationwide
- Maintaining detailed, accurate records of each student's progress
- Monitoring and tracking key college application deadlines for multiple students
- Serving as the primary point of contact between the student, family, school counselors, and colleges
- Familiarizing yourself with and utilizing various college application platforms to help students manage and submit their applications efficiently
- Continuously researching and staying updated on changes in the college admissions landscape
- Preparing and submitting progress reports to students and families
- Managing administrative tasks such as scheduling student meetings, organizing workshops, sending reminders, and ensuring all documents are submitted correctly and on time
- Reviewing and providing detailed feedback on essays, resumes, and supplemental materials
- Monitoring students' progress in test preparation, ensuring they are following the recommended study plans and improving over time
- Collaborating with other advisers and administrative staff to ensure a streamlined experience for each family
- Assisting with increasing client base through delivery of sales presentations to potential students and families
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in counseling, education, or related field preferred
- 3+ years of experience in college admissions counseling, academic advising, or working in a college admissions office
- Strong knowledge of the college admissions landscape, including application processes, test preparation, and scholarship opportunities
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and school administrators
- Familiarity with International Baccalaureate (IB), Advanced Placement (AP), and other advanced academic programs is a plus
- Experience working with diverse student populations, including first-generation and neurodivergent students
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of students and families
Compensation: $45.00 per hour
