As part of the HR & Management Support Function (MSF) Controlling team at RWE Clean Energy, the Senior Associate, IT Financial Planning & Analysis plays a crucial role in two primary areas: IT Controlling (80% of the role) and MSF Controlling (20% of the role). This position is pivotal in overseeing the financial performance, budgeting, and financial reporting for the IT & OT sectors of RWECE. The goal is to ensure transparency, cost efficiency, and strategic alignment in all IT & OT investments. Acting as a strategic partner and trusted advisor, the role involves evaluating improvement measures and providing recommendations to support business decisions. As a newly established function, the design and implementation of innovative models and processes are essential, including the establishment of new budgeting procedures and cost allocation methodologies. The RWECE IT & OT sector serves as the digital backbone of the organization, managing an annual budget exceeding $50 million related to software and hardware for business operations and monitoring RWECE's renewable energy fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

IT Controlling (80% of the role):
  • Lead the IT Controlling initiatives, including the creation and delivery of monthly and quarterly reports on IT & OT expenditures, budgeting, forecasting, and business case analyses.
  • Financial Planning & Cost Analysis: Develop and maintain comprehensive models and processes for IT & OT financial planning. Ensure timely and accurate reporting related to IT & OT costs and investments, assessing performance against established KPIs.
  • Business Support: Collaborate closely with the IT & OT functions to meet internal and external reporting requirements. Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide insightful analyses to support decision-making.
  • Coordination and Networking: Act as the primary contact for IT & OT financial matters within the RWECE Controlling team, ensuring effective communication and coordination across various departments.
  • Management Communication: Engage with Senior Management, preparing materials for meetings and supporting reporting activities and special projects.
  • Ongoing Initiatives: Contribute to company-wide strategic planning and growth targets, particularly following recent mergers.
MSF Controlling (20% of the role):
  • Support MSF Controlling tasks, including monthly reporting and forecasting for business overhead functions.
  • Financial Planning & Cost Analysis: Assist in the timely and accurate reporting for various business functions, performing KPI analyses and recommending actions to Senior Management.
  • Business Support: Serve as a strategic partner to business areas, identifying cost-saving opportunities and providing analyses that facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Management Communication: Prepare materials for meetings with Senior Management and the Board, supporting regular reporting and special projects.
  • Ongoing Initiatives: Assist in strategic planning and integration activities following recent mergers.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related fields; advanced degrees are advantageous.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Accounting, Business Controlling, IT Controlling, or related finance fields.
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills, with the ability to manage relationships and explain complex information.
  • Proficiency in SAP or other ERP systems, along with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with a focus on meeting deadlines and managing multiple tasks.
  • Detail-oriented with strong business acumen and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of German is a plus.
