Job Title: Senior API Integration Standards Architect

We are seeking an experienced Senior API Integration Standards Architect to lead our team in transforming our API strategy, standards, and ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Define and communicate a comprehensive API integration strategy aligned with business goals and objectives.
  • Design and implement a scalable, secure, and high-performing API architecture that supports API-led connectivity, reusability, and modularity.
  • Establish and enforce API governance processes and standards, ensuring consistency, quality, and adherence to best practices across the API lifecycle.
  • Oversee the selection, implementation, and optimization of API platforms and tools to streamline development, deployment, monitoring, and management across a heterogeneous cloud infrastructure.
  • Provide oversight of the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of APIs across various styles and standards.
  • Stay abreast of emerging API technologies and trends, evaluating and recommending their adoption to enhance our API ecosystem.
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of API Software Engineers, DevOps, and the API Product Owner.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment that encourages innovation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct code reviews, ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices, and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in software development and systems integration, with a strong focus on API design and development.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Proven track record of leading and delivering complex API integration projects in enterprise environments.
  • Extensive experience in designing and implementing APIs and integrations in large enterprise environments.
  • Strong engineering mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging both technical and business audiences.
  • Deep understanding of security protocols, authentication methods, and data privacy regulations.
  • Ability to embrace new ideas and technologies effectively while balancing the needs of stakeholders and users.
  • Deep understanding of API architectural patterns, principles, and best practices.
  • Proficient in implementing and managing infrastructure using IaC principles.
  • Experience working in Agile environments, including Kanban, Lean, and Scrum.
  • Proficiency in at least two of the following languages: Java, Kotlin, Python, Ruby, JavaScript, NodeJS.
  • Familiarity with DevOps culture and practices, including CI/CD pipelines and deployments.
