Job Summary

Shumaker Trucking & Excavating Contractors, Inc is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for providing top-notch maintenance, diagnostics, and repair services for our fleet of mobile heavy equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Repair: Troubleshoot and repair various types of mobile heavy equipment, including crushing, excavation, grading, and sewer & water utility lines equipment.
  • Equipment Inspection: Conduct regular inspections to ensure equipment is in good working condition and identify potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical advice and guidance to operators and maintenance personnel on equipment operations, maintenance, and repair.
  • Logistics and Administration: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including completion of maintenance logs and reports.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; 2+ years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Class A Commercial Driver's License with Tanker and Hazardous Material endorsement preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; strong problem-solving and analytical skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions

The physical demands of this role include repetitive movement, bending, and twisting; using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with varying temperatures and weather conditions.
