Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Project Leader to join our team. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in project management, Agile methodologies, and technical experience in planning, organizing, monitoring, and controlling IT projects. The role involves providing leadership to high-performing teams, developing and maintaining project management-related artifacts, and ensuring solutions are delivered according to established methodologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and resource allocation
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement and communication
  • Identify and manage project risks and issues
  • Monitor and report on project costs and progress

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • 10+ years experience in project management
  • Demonstrated expertise in Agile methodologies and project management tools
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with high-level stakeholders, including executives and 3rd party vendors

Evaluation Criteria
The evaluation criteria for this role include:
  • Project Management (40%): Demonstrated experience in establishing and optimizing project management methodologies, implementing solutions for large IT projects, and developing and managing project management artifacts
  • Technical Experience (30%): Demonstrated experience with planning, organizing, monitoring, and controlling IT projects, preparing and presenting complex briefing materials, and producing business documents using MS Office applications
  • Communication Skills (25%): Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, oral and written communication skills, and inter-personal and negotiation skills
  • Ontario Public Sector (OPS) Experience (5%): Experience with OPS Unified I & IT Project Methodology (UPM) and project gating processes would be an asset
