Patient Transporter

As a Student Transporter at the University of Kentucky, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of patients, medical equipment, and patient-related items to their destinations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transport patients, medical equipment, and patient-related items to their destinations in a safe and timely manner.
- Secure IVs, drainage tubes, and other medical equipment during transport.
- Communicate effectively with nursing personnel, clinicians, technicians, and reception and dispatch staff.
- Ensure patient comfort by being attentive and offering blankets, checking modesty, and engaging in appropriate conversation.
- Alert nursing staff immediately to any signs of patient distress or equipment malfunction.
- Maintain equipment and report any equipment needing repairs.
- Comply with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO.
- Adhere to facility confidentiality and patient's rights policy as outlined in the facilities HIPPA policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- CPR certification is required upon completion of training.
- Must have holiday availability.
- Must be a current UK student to apply.
Work Environment:
This position is located off-campus with a local Lexington employer and is not affiliated with UK.
