Nursing Faculty Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly qualified Nursing Faculty member to join our team at Pellissippi State Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching nursing courses, developing curriculum, and mentoring students in our Associate of Applied Science in Nursing (AASN) program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach nursing courses in a variety of settings, including classroom, lab, and clinical environments.
  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the Tennessee Board of Regents Common Curriculum for Nursing.
  • Mentor and advise students in their academic and professional development.
  • Participate in departmental activities, such as committee work and professional development.
  • Stay current with industry developments and best practices in nursing education.
Requirements:
  • Masters degree in nursing from a regionally accredited college/university.
  • Unencumbered RN licensure in the State of Tennessee.
  • Advanced preparation and experience in a nursing practice specialty area.
  • One year of teaching experience in a pre-licensure program.
  • Three years of related work experience as an RN.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Acute care clinical experience within the past three years.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
