Role: Medical Assistant

As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in delivering and coordinating essential medical services while ensuring a supportive patient experience within our facility. Your responsibilities will encompass both routine administrative tasks and clinical duties.

Compensation Range:

  • $16 to $19 per hour

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED (General Equivalency Diploma)
  • Current medical assistant certification from an accredited institution and/or transcripts
  • Prior experience as a medical assistant
  • Commitment to maintaining continuing education credits as mandated by the state
  • Capability to administer medications
  • CPR, First Aid, and BLS certification required
  • Refer to the addendum for any additional state-specific requirements, if applicable

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduation from a post-secondary medical assisting program accredited by a recognized agency
  • Current certification from the Certifying Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), or registration from the American Medical Technologists (AMT), or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or any recognized certifying body approved by the Board
  • Experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
  • Two years of experience or knowledge in the behavioral health field is recommended

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the intake team to ensure timely patient care
  • Monitor urine samples for drug screening, conducting onsite tests and preparing samples for laboratory confirmation
  • Measure and report vital signs to nursing staff as necessary
  • Schedule patient appointments with physicians, manage lab work, and facilitate referrals for follow-up care
  • Maintain and update all medical records and documentation related to patients
  • Assist in the procurement and ordering of medical supplies
  • Provide education to expectant patients regarding prenatal care and support primary counselors in coordinating external services as needed
  • Participate in team meetings and complete all required training courses in a timely manner
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
