Job Overview

Position Summary:

VETPRIDE SERVICES INC is looking for individuals with foundational experience in equipment operation and maintenance to assist in our fleet services. The Non-Tactical Equipment (NTE) mechanic assistant will be responsible for conducting equipment inspections, performing maintenance tasks, cleaning, refueling, and executing minor repairs on various non-tactical mobile machinery.

Compensation: $16.36 per hour | Health & Welfare Fringe Benefit: $4.41 (paid directly to you)

Your total hourly wage will amount to $20.77.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough cleaning services for equipment, including exterior washing, interior vacuuming, dusting, window cleaning, and tire dressing.
  • Perform essential service tasks such as checking and replenishing fluid levels, including fuel, engine oil, coolant, and other necessary fluids.
  • Replace worn components and make required adjustments to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Facilitate the pickup and delivery of equipment as needed.
  • Assist in operator-scheduled services, including battery boosts and recording usage metrics.
  • Carry out minor repair tasks as outlined in the manufacturer's guidelines, such as replacing wiper blades and light bulbs.
  • Support personnel with spill prevention and cleanup measures.
  • Utilize an automated key tracking system to monitor equipment usage and maintain accurate records.
  • Gather and document vehicle information for tracking and reporting purposes.
  • Maintain a tidy workspace and ensure equipment is cleaned after use.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to operate equipment safely and maintain a secure work environment.
  • Knowledge of proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Subject to pre-employment background checks.
  • Must pass a drug screening.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to manage conflicts professionally.
  • Consistent attendance and reliability are essential.
  • Basic proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks.
  • Capability to lift up to 45 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within established guidelines.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Basic technical skills and computer literacy.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current and valid Driver's License.
  • Experience in equipment operation and maintenance is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 45 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to perform various physical activities, including walking, standing, bending, and climbing.
