Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Aviation Maintenance Technician I is responsible for executing maintenance tasks on commercial aircraft components. The role is pivotal in ensuring that customer requests are fulfilled in alignment with the Repair Group's established standards and protocols.

Compensation:

The hourly wage range for this position is $19-$24.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate qualifications on multiple units and work autonomously.
  • Adhere to operational policies and procedures, ensuring that all aircraft-related materials are accurately identified, maintained, preserved, and organized.
  • Utilize current data to perform maintenance and modification tasks in compliance with repair station requirements.
  • Document all work performed in the appropriate maintenance records.
  • Conduct necessary research to verify that technical data and manuals are up-to-date and relevant for assigned tasks.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience: A high school diploma or GED is required. Preference will be given to candidates with related college coursework, certifications, or an associate degree. A minimum of two years of relevant experience and/or training is necessary, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Skills:

The following qualifications are essential for this role:

  • Language Proficiency: Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operational and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. Proficient in writing routine reports and correspondence, and capable of effectively communicating with groups.
  • Mathematical Skills: Competence in basic arithmetic operations and the ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages, as well as interpret graphical data.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense to execute simple instructions and manage standardized situations with minimal variability.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Frequent communication through speaking and listening.
  • Regularly required to sit and manipulate tools or equipment.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and lift items weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Work is conducted in moderate noise levels.
  • Minimal travel is expected for this role.
