About the Role

As a Phlebotomy Specialist at Mayo Clinic, you will play a vital role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by performing venous capillary, and line collections, and Point of Care (POC) testing. You will be responsible for instructing patients on various specimen types, ensuring accurate patient identification, specimen integrity, and sample labeling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform phlebotomy procedures in a fast-paced environment, interacting with customers in a pleasant, efficient, and cooperative manner.
  • Work cooperatively with peers, providing and receiving constructive feedback, and participating in special projects as assigned by the management team.
  • Train, educate, and mentor new and existing staff, troubleshooting and resolving problems, and prioritizing work to accommodate scheduling adjustments.
  • Maintain a professional image at all times and serve as a resource to others.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • A graduate of a phlebotomy training program that provides a clinical rotation or 3 months of phlebotomy work experience is required.
  • Individuals hired to this position are required to complete 2 years in this role before being eligible to transfer to other positions within Mayo Clinic.
Benefits and Compensation

This role offers a competitive hourly rate of $19.57-$27.02 and is eligible for comprehensive benefits. The schedule includes full-time hours with a 80-hour pay period, with opportunities to work in a dynamic and supportive environment.
