Penske Racing South is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Technician to join our team as a Motorsports Loom and Harness Specialist. This role will be a vital member of our traveling racing organization, competing in the IMSA Weather Tech Sports Car Championship.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Development: Design, build, repair, and maintain motorsport looms and harnesses to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Radio and Intercom Systems: Manage, program, and maintain radios and intercom systems to ensure clear communication between team members.
- Inventory Management: Work with the parts department to produce orders for outside vendors and maintain inventory of looms and sensors with the systems engineers.
- Assembly and Disassembly: Assemble, disassemble, and maintain Porsche Penske Motorsport race cars in a safe and efficient manner.
- Trackside IT: Aid in trackside IT network setup, maintenance, and configuration, as well as general IT tasks.
- Pit Crew Member: Participate in the pit stop crew, including a training and fitness program.
- Experience: 2-3 years of experience in top-level professional motorsports in an electrical technician role.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Skills: Ability to design, build, repair, and maintain motorsports looms and harnesses; experience with radio and intercom systems; general IT and networking experience.
- Travel: Ability to travel internationally required.
This role will require extensive travel both domestically and internationally throughout the year for periods of 2-3 weeks at a time. The position will be based out of our Mooresville, North Carolina facility.
