Key Responsibilities of the Wound Care Nurse:
  • Conducting thorough assessments and ongoing monitoring of wound conditions.
  • Performing wound cleaning and dressing changes.
  • Developing, updating, and overseeing individualized care plans.
  • Executing specialized procedures, including debridement and advanced wound management techniques.
  • Collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team to evaluate the need for additional treatments or modifications in care.
  • Providing education to nursing staff regarding wound care best practices.
  • Delivering direct patient care with a focus on wound management.
  • Instructing patients, families, and nursing staff on wound care protocols.
  • Overseeing wound care programs to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications:
  • Active LPN/RN license issued by the State Board of Nursing.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in wound care.
  • Preferred experience in long-term care or skilled nursing environments.
