Job Summary:

Genesis Global Group's Medical Diagnostic Laboratories specializes in Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) and offers a wide range of testing services in infectious diseases. Our research focus is on Gynecology, Infectious Diseases, Infectious Arthritis, Tick-borne Diseases, Mycology, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS).

The Cytotechnologist performs complex testing involving microscopic screening and evaluation of gynecological and non-gynecological specimens. They provide interpretations to supervisory cytotechnologists and pathologists, ensuring accurate and thorough results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform microscopic evaluation of cellular samples using recognized criteria to make cytological interpretations.
  • Correlate findings with supervisory cytotechnologists and pathologists.
  • Accurately record specimen and results data.
  • Prepare biopsies and assess cellular adequacy through fine needle aspirations.
  • Ensure individual specimen turnaround times meet laboratory expectations.
  • Maintain safe use and operation of cytological activities and equipment.
  • Use established laboratory techniques to prepare quality slides from cytological samples.
  • Perform other similar or related duties as required or assigned.

Requirements:

  • ASCP Board Certification.
  • Experience with Thin-Prep Imaging System; Review Scope a plus.

Work Environment:

  • Laboratory setting.
  • Use of personal protective equipment may be necessary.
  • May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids.

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related science.
  • 0-2+ years related experience.
