Senior Cytotechnologist

Medical Diagnostic Laboratories, a member of Genesis Global Group, is a CLIA certified clinical laboratory specializing in state-of-the-art molecular analysis of chronic and infectious illnesses. The laboratory performs Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) with a comprehensive menu of testing available in the field of infectious disease.

The laboratory's main research focus is on Gynecology, Infectious Diseases, Infectious Arthritis, Tick-borne Diseases, Mycology, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS).

The Senior Cytotechnologist performs complex testing involving microscopic screening and evaluation of gynecological and non-gynecological specimens, providing interpretations to supervisory cytotechnologists and pathologists.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough and accurate microscopic evaluation of cellular samples using recognized criteria to make cytological interpretations.
• Correlate findings with supervisory cytotechnologists and pathologists.
• Accurately record all specimen and results data.
• Perform fine-needle aspirations to prepare biopsies and assess cellular adequacy.
• Ensure individual specimen turnaround times meet laboratory expectations.
• Ensure safe use and maintenance of cytological activities and equipment.
• Use established laboratory techniques to prepare quality slides from cytological samples.

Qualifications:

• ASCP Board Certification.
• Experience with Thin-Prep Imaging System; Review Scope a plus.

Work Environment:

• Laboratory setting.
• Use of personal protective equipment may be necessary.
• May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids.

Education and Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related science.
• Minimum of 5 years related experience.
