Firefighter/Paramedic Job Description

At the City of Sheboygan, WI, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Firefighter/Paramedic to join our team. As a Firefighter/Paramedic, you will be responsible for responding to emergency calls, providing medical care, and suppressing fires. You will work closely with our team to ensure the safety of our community and provide exceptional service.

Responsibilities:
  • Respond to emergency calls, including fires, medical emergencies, and rescues.
  • Provide medical care and transportation to patients, including administering medications and performing medical interventions.
  • Operate and maintain fire apparatus, equipment, and facilities.
  • Participate in training programs and stay up-to-date with the latest techniques and protocols.
  • Work collaboratively with other firefighters and emergency responders to achieve common goals.
Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Diploma from a standard senior high school or technical school recognized by a state education agency.
  • Possession of a valid Wisconsin Motor Vehicle Operator's license.
  • Emergency medical licensure by the State of Wisconsin to the level deemed appropriate and necessary by the Fire Chief.
  • Firefighting certification to the level deemed appropriate and necessary by the Fire Chief.
