We are seeking an experienced Pediatric Respiratory Therapist Specialist to join our team at Phoenix Children's Hospital. Job Summary

The Pediatric Respiratory Therapist Specialist will be responsible for facilitating and administering respiratory care, including routine and complex procedures, using a wide variety of techniques and equipment. This position ensures that care meets quality standards established by the hospital, department, and regulatory agencies and maintains all skills and knowledge sufficient to provide safe, effective, and developmentally appropriate care to all ages of patients from neonate to adolescent.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely performs various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to established standards, procedural guidelines, and policies.
  • Interacts with and explains care modalities to patients, families, and the health care team in an understandable manner based on individual diversity and learning styles.
  • Accurately and reliably interprets and communicates patient data.
  • Assesses patients' clinical status, evaluates progress towards goals, and recommends courses of action.
  • Analyzes critical situations and applies appropriate judgment and critical thinking for problem resolution.
  • Continuously improves and takes the initiative to develop knowledge and skills through appropriate learning experiences and opportunities.
  • Works effectively in a team-based environment especially during stressful situations involving quickly changing priorities.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful as a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist Specialist, you should have:

  • A degree in Respiratory Therapy or a related field.
  • Current certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
  • Experience working in pediatric respiratory care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
