Job Summary:
Eaton's GEIS division is seeking a highly skilled Engineering Technical Services Director to lead the engineering technical services business function and revenue team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and leading the team, driving commercialization, and refining metrics.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a technical service strategy that enables the division's strategic growth initiatives
Utilize project management skills to prioritize escalations and improve timeliness on customer responses while driving revenue growth and profitability
Establish and execute annual stretch targets including revenue, margin, and service-level commitments
Develop and monitor team metrics, proactively identify gaps/opportunities, and establish corrective actions to close
Drive process improvements for the Engineering Technical Services and Seismic ETO/MTO teams
Manage customer-facing and customer service tool pipeline
Maintain a workforce of highly motivated employees with a morale that is conducive to high levels of employee engagement
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
Minimum 8 years of experience in an engineering, operations, and/or project management role within a manufacturing environment
Minimum 4 years of leadership of people experience
Minimum 2 years Commercial/Customer Experience interfacing with internal/external customers
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or Business Administration
Prior experience managing a remote workforce
Prior experience working with an Engineer to Order (ETO) group
Proven track record of building organizational capability and talent through effective recruiting, training, coaching, development, and optimizing organizational structure
Experience working in a global business environment
Skills:
Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced/real-time environment
Highly entrepreneurial sense of urgency along with a passion for the industry along with a drive to grow both personally and professionally
Collaborative, flexible, and adaptive when working with customers and various teams
Has a proven track record of successfully measuring department goals to meet company performance standards, including measuring team productivity and effectiveness
Enthusiastic and creative leader with the ability to inspire others
Passion for revenue and growth
Demonstrated desire for continuous learning and improvement
Strong understanding of press, casting, and roll forming technologies
Strong written/verbal communication skills
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (particularly Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
