Speech Language Pathologist Job Description

Focus Family Care is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to provide expert care to patients with speech, language, or swallowing disorders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to identify communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based practices, including speech therapy and early intervention techniques.
  • Provide speech and language therapy to patients, using a variety of techniques and strategies to address specific needs.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, educators, and families to ensure effective patient care and support.
  • Utilize medical terminology and anatomical knowledge to diagnose and treat complex disorders.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
  • Stay current with the latest research, best practices, and industry developments to continually improve patient outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology.
  • Current licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state of practice.
  • Experience working with patients in various settings, including schools, hospitals, and clinics.
  • Strong understanding of pediatric and adult communication disorders, including developmental delays and acquired conditions.
  • Familiarity with early intervention and school-based speech therapy approaches.
  • Proven ability to assess and treat patients with a range of communication and swallowing disorders.
Preferred Skills:
  • Proficiency in speech therapy techniques and methodologies.
  • Excellent patient care and communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy relevant to speech and language disorders.
  • Experience with early intervention and school-based speech therapy approaches.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and the ability to apply anatomical knowledge to patient assessment and treatment.
  • Effective patient assessment skills, including the ability to identify and address a range of communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, educators, and families to ensure effective patient care and support.

Job Type: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Benefits: Flexible schedule

Medical Specialty: Home Health, Pediatrics

Schedule: 10 hour shift, 12 hour shift, 8 hour shift, Day shift, Evening shift, Holidays, Monday to Friday, Night shift, Weekends as needed

Ability to Relocate: West Palm Beach, FL: Relocate before starting work (Required)
