Logistics Tendering Specialist

Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assess optimal solutions for the transportation of incoming and outgoing products and raw materials.
  2. Facilitate the tendering process for inbound and outbound shipments to various carriers.
  3. Analyze different transportation modes, including trucking, rail, intermodal, and more.
  4. Gather and assess relevant shipping rates to inform decision-making.
  5. Identify administrative requirements and propose suitable solutions or recommendations.
  6. Conduct research and analytical studies, generating reports that encompass cost analyses, comparative financial data, and informational insights to support conclusions.
  7. Perform cost/benefit analyses and evaluate processes and resource utilization.
  8. Investigate methods to enhance work measurements or performance standards.
  9. Review and respond to correspondence as necessary.
  10. Act as a liaison between carriers and loading docks.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from an accredited four-year institution is required.

Proficiency in reading and understanding simple instructions, brief correspondence, and memos, along with the ability to draft straightforward correspondence.

Capability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings to clients, customers, and colleagues.

Competence in working with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.

Ability to apply concepts like fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to real-world situations.

Familiarity with database software, internet applications, manufacturing software, order processing systems, as well as spreadsheet and word processing software.
